Who is Jesus, for real?  What did he do while he walked this earth?  Who did he interact it?  Why did he do miracles?  There are so many questions about Jesus and we want to find the answers of who Jesus is and experience the real Jesus for ourselves.

During this series we will read through the Gospel of Luke and learn from Jesus’ life and teaching.

2022 is New Hope’s “Year in the Word”,

which means we are taking a deep dive into specific books of the Bible on Sunday mornings throughout the year.  We know that the Bible can be overwhelming to read and understand with 66 individual books broken into two sections, Old and New Testaments.  We want to help you understand the overarching story of God’s redemption as we study different books from different part of the Bible.

On this page you will find resources that will help you each week in you personal Bible reading and prayer times with God.

October-December, 2022

Jesus had a lot going on during his time in ministry… preaching, teaching, healing, and travelling.  But there was a habit that he had in his life that we need to use as a model for our life:

Luke 5:16 – But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.

If Jesus needed to spend that time with his Heavenly Father, we certainly need it too!  Take 10-20min each day with a journal, your Bible and a prayer list.  Put it on the calendar and make it a priority.

S.O.A.P. is a simple method for reading and applying God’s word to our lives.  It stands for Scripture, Observation, Application and Prayer and involves four simple steps:

  1. 1. Scripture – Read a short Bible passage out loud and/or write it out. Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you as you read and look for any specific words or phrases that stand out and write them down.
  2. 2. Observation – What do you notice about the verses? What do you think the main message is? What verses, words or ideas jump out to you?
  3. 3. Application – Ask God how he wants you to apply the verse to your own life.  What do you need to do today because of the passage?  How do you need to think differently?
  4. 4. Prayer – Have a list of things you’re asking God to do for you or others.  Start by thanking God for things then move to requests.

You can choose your own scripture or reading plan or use the one provided for our Luke Series.
